- Senior Kyle Martin led the Red Raiders with a 2-for-3 day at the plate. He belted two home runs and tied his career-high RBI total with four. He now has three, four-RBI games in his career as a Red Raider and leads this year's squad with 10 RBIs.
- Junior catcher Matt Smith added his team-leading fourth home run of the season in the bottom of the second.
- Texas Tech has now surrendered 11 runs in the ninth inning this year. Western Illinois plated six in today's game and had the go ahead run at the plate with two outs.
- Sophomore Cory Large picked up his first career win as a Red Raider. Large started today's game and pitched two shutout innings and struckout three.
