- Senior shortstop Kyle Martin missed tonight's game due to flu symptoms. He was replaced at shortstop by freshman Chris Hall.
- The Texas Tech pitching staff didn't walk a batter all evening and it marked the first time Tech has not issued a free pass since the Baylor game back on March 31 of last season.
- The Red Raiders are riding a five-game win streak for the first time since winning six-straight between Feb. 14 and Feb. 25, 2006.
- Junior designated hitter Geoff Byrns extended his hit streak to nine games as he finished the night 2-for-5 including the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the eighth. He leads the squad with six multiple-hit games.
- Freshman center fielder Taylor Ashby added his fourth multiple-hit and third multiple-RBI games of the season as he finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
- Texas Tech is now 9-0 all-time at Citibank Ballpark and 8-0 in the Midland College Classic.
