Texas Tech (10-4) enters the weekend series having won nine of its last 10 games, including a Tuesday win over New Mexico. The Red Raiders found themselves down by six runs (8-2) after five innings against New Mexico but rebounded with eight unanswered runs to capture a 10-8 win over the Lobos. The win evens the season long series (four games) at 1-1 as New Mexico captured the first meeting back in early February. The series against Northridge will mark the final non-conference weekend set at Dan Law Field as the Red Raiders head to Corpus Christi next weekend before opening up Big 12 play March 16-18 against Nebraska.
Cal State Northridge (10-7) comes into the weekend fresh off a series win over Oklahoma State this past weekend at Matador Field in Northridge. The Matadors won the first two games of the series but were unable to complete the sweep as OSU pulled out a 10-7 win in the finale. The Matadors have also posted a series win over UNLV, another Texas Tech opponent this season, as they took 2-of-3 from the Rebels in late January.
Tickets for the weekend series are on sale through the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office and can also be purchased online at www.texastech.com. The Dan Law Field Box Office will open 90 minutes prior to first pitch.
