- Texas Tech now leads the all-time series against New Mexico State 37-12-0.
- Senior reliever Chris Ortmeier made his first appearance of the season tonight and retired six of the seven batters he faced. He gave up one hit over two innings of work and struckout one.
- Roger Kieschnick added to his Big 12 lead in doubles by adding two on the evening against New Mexico State. Kieschnick now has 16 doubles on the year and is six away from moving into a tie for seventh place on the school's single season doubles list.
- Texas Tech is now 3-1 on Tuesday's and 13-0 when leading after the sixth inning.
- The Red Raiders scored double digit runs for the first time since a March 4 game against Cal State Northridge.
