- Today's game was televised by Fox Sports Net. The Red Raiders are now 2-0 on television this season.
- Matt Smith notched his first career multiple home run game this afternoon as he finished with a pair of long balls to give him a total of eight on the season. His eight home runs on the year is also a new career high surpassing the seven he hit a year ago.
- Jason Seefeld's two-run blast in the top of the third marked his first home run of the season and the fourth of his career.
- Texas Tech's 16 runs and 15 hits in the game are the most since defeating Dallas Baptist 21-1 (19 hits) back on Feb. 16 in the Midland College Classic.
- Texas Tech is now 14-0 when leading after the sixth inning.
- The 11-run win over Kansas State marks the largest margin of victory for Tech over a Big 12 foe since beating Missouri 13-1 back on May 12, 2006. The last time Tech run-ruled a Big 12 opponent was Baylor (14-1) last season.
- Texas Tech played error free for the first time since the TCU game in the Whataburger College Classic.
