Red Raiders Face UNLV In Midweek Series
Texas Tech continues its grueling stretch of games on Tuesday evening as the Red Raiders welcome the UNLV Rebels to Dan Law Field for a two-game midweek series. The series gets underway at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening and will wrap up at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Both games of the UNLV series will be carried live on the Texas Tech Sports Network while live audio and video will be available through RaiderVision All-Access.
Tuesday's game against UNLV will be the fourth game in the last five days for the Red Raiders and is part of a stretch that includes 12 games over 16 days. Following the Wednesday finale against UNLV, the Red Raiders will hit the road on Thursday and will open up play in the 2007 Whataburger College Classic in Corpus Christi against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday afternoon. Texas Tech and UNLV split a similar two-game midweek series in Las Vegas last year and the two schools will continue to play a two-game series in each of the next two seasons (at Las Vegas in 2008 and in Lubbock in 2009).
Texas Tech enters the midweek having won a weekend series (2-1) against Cal State Northridge and has posted wins in 11 of the last 13 contests. The Red Raiders got a pair of solid pitching performances over the weekend from AJ Ramos and Aaron Odom as both players set career high's in strikeouts. Sophomore right fielder Roger Kieschnick wrapped up a four-game stretch with a .563 batting average along with eight multiple base hits, including three home runs.
Tickets for both games of the UNLV series are currently on sale through the Texas Tech Athletics Ticket Office and online at www.texastech.com.
