LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech soccer shut-out West Texas A&M, 8-0. The match was played at the new soccer facility in Lubbock and concluded the spring season for the Red Raiders.
Kim Cypert led Tech with three goals for the match. Emmie Bennett, Zhaleh Rezaie, Chessa Purser, Maegan Wilber and Sarabeth Clopton each tallied one goal.
The Texas Tech defense dominated and kept the Buffalos from scoring throughout the entire match.
Texas Tech finished its spring season, 3-1. The Red Raiders shut-out West Texas A&M twice and defeated UTEP, 2-1.
"We played really well in all areas and scored some great goals," said head coach Neil McGuire. "This is a nice way to end the spring, and a good start to the fall preparations."
Tech will open up their 2007 fall season against two nationally ranked opponents, The University of Georgia and Vanderbilt University in Athens, GA.
