- Sophomore right fielder Roger Kieschnick extended his current hit streak to seven games when he laced a single to right field in his first at-bat of the game.
- Missouri clinched the series today and the Red Raiders have now lost three straight against the Tigers dating back to last year's Big 12 Tournament. The Tigers lead the all-time series 19-17. The series loss is now the 12th straight for the Red Raiders on the road. Tech's last road series win was at Oklahoma State May 14-16, 2004.
- Tech's seven runs in the game was the most by the Red Raiders in a losing effort in a Big 12 games since falling 13-12 at Kansas State in 2005.
- Texas Tech has now played four straight error free games for the first time in five years when Tech strung together a five-game errorless stretch back in 2002.
