LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech will immediately begin its search for the fourth head coach in the history of the women's soccer program, according to Gerald Myers, director of athletics at Texas Tech. Former head coach Neil McGuire recently resigned the position to assume head coaching duties at California.
"We are still committed to continuing to build an outstanding women's soccer program at Texas Tech," Myers said. "We have a great group of young women on this team who possess a tremendous amount of talent. This is a great position and a great place to be. We will work diligently to uncover the best candidate possible."
During McGuire's two seasons the Red Raiders won eight games, including seven in 2006, the most in a single season since 1999's eight-win campaign. The seven wins also matched the three previous seasons combined.
