Texas Tech Selected to Play in NCAA Central Regional

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's golf team was selected to advance to the NCAA Central Regional, as announced by the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee on Monday. The Red Raiders received a 14th seed and will be playing in their sixth-consecutive regional event, tenth overall.
Tech and the remaining 26 central squads will do battle at the Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill., on Thurs.-Sat., May 17-19. The central bracket contains top-seeded Alabama, No. 2-seed and Big 12 Champion Oklahoma State, as well as conference members Texas A&M (4), Texas (8), Baylor (19), Kansas (20), Colorado (21), Nebraska (22) and Oklahoma (23).
The top 10 teams and two individuals not on an advancing team in each of the three regions will move on to compete in the 2007 NCAA Championships. The final event will take place May 30-June 2 at the Gold Course at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virg.
