Griffin Receives Medical Exemption

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head women's basketball coach Kristy Curry announced today that senior Darrice Griffin has received a medical exemption due to her incapacitating knee injury.
Texas Tech will medically exempt Griffin's financial aid, which will not count towards the scholarship limits.
In her three-year career, the Seagraves, Texas, native played in 75 games with one start, as she averaged 2.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. During her freshman campaign, Griffin played in all 32 games, which included the one start, and averaged 4.5 points and 4.4 rebounds.
This past May, Griffin graduated with honors with a degree in psychology. She is currently working on a master's degree in counseling and plans to pursue a doctorate as well.
