LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball program has launched a website for students to learn more about the "Get in to Win" contest for students at Lady Raider basketball games.
Students have the chance to win tuition, valued at $7,500, for the 2009-10 academic year by using their student ID card to get into 10 Lady Raider basketball games this season.
Student ID cards allow access to Lady Raider games at no charge to students. This year, Tech is awarding a scholarship, the equivalent of an in-state tuition, voucher to one lucky student for the 2009-10 academic year, valued at $7,500 for the fall or spring semester. All students have to do is come to at least 10 of the 17 regular-season home games from Nov. 14-March 4. The two exhibition games on Nov. 2, and Nov. 9, are not part of the contest as well as the final home game on March 7, as that is when the winner will be drawn. Additionally, prizes will be awarded during each regular-season game and winners will be selected randomly from a drawing of eligible students who are present to collect those awards.
"It is an honor to be one of 17 programs selected in the nation to be part of the NCAA women's basketball grant program," said Elvis Moya, Director of Marketing and Promotions for Lady Raider basketball. "There will be plenty of exciting prizes given away to students at every home game and we look forward to also giving one lucky student tuition in 2009-10."
