- Junior right fielder Roger Kieschnick now owns seven home runs on the season and his career total improves to 29. He also added his team-leading eighth multiple-hit game of the season and his third three-hit game.
- Senior third baseman Jason Seefeld blasted his second home run of the year in the fourth and now owns six in his Tech career.
- Freshman right-hander Chad Bettis continues to lead the Tech pitching staff as he stand at 2-0 on the season and leads the squad with 18 2/3 innings pitched. He has struckout 14 batters compared to seven walks and only allowed seven earned runs for a 3.38 ERA.
- Junior RHP Zach Stewart registered the first save of the season for Tech as he held the Huskies scoreless over the final 2 1/3 innings and dropped his overall ERA to 1.08.
- Texas Tech now leads the all-time series against Northern Illinois 9-2 and has won the last three meetings.
- Tech Head Coach Larry Hays is now just nine wins away from the 1,500th of his outstanding coaching career than spans 37 seasons. He is also four wins shy of his 800th career win as the skipper of the Red Raiders.
