Postgame Notes
March 14, 2008 | Baseball
- Sophomore second baseman Joey Kenworthy and freshman catcher Monk Kreder both hit their first career home runs in the top of the first and second, respectively, to give the Red Raiders an early 2-0 lead.
- Junior RHP AJ Ramos, who earned a no-decision tonight, walked a career-high eight batters. As a team, Texas Tech issued 11 walks (most since walking 11 against New Mexico State back on March 14, 2006) and three hit batters.
- Junior RHP Brian Cloud set a new career high for strikeouts with seven, going three innings and allowing only one hit.
- The Red Raiders went to extra innings for the first time this season tonight and now stand at 0-1. The 12-inning contest is the longest between Texas Tech and A&M since the inception of the Big 12 in 1997. Tech's longest conference game was a 15-inning loss to Kansas State back on April 5, 2002.
- The Texas Tech pitching staff fell just one strikeout short of the Big 12 record of 21 as they struckout 20 Aggie hitters on the night.
