LUBBOCK, Texas - Sitting 2-0 on the spring, the Texas Tech soccer team will travel to Frisco, Texas, to face the TCU Horned Frogs at 4:30 p.m., Sat., April 5 at Pizza Hut Park, home of the professional soccer club FC Dallas.
The match comes nearly a month following the Red Raiders' last contest, a 2-1 victory over West Texas A&M. Tech also defeated Central Florida, 2-0, to open the spring.
For Tech players and coaches, the match will be a homecoming of sorts as 10 Red Raiders along with all three Tech coaches hail from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
"We are excited about the opportunity to come to Dallas and play in such a wonderful environment at Pizza Hut Park," Tech Head Coach Tom Stone said. "We are grateful to FC Dallas youth for inviting us in for this event."
TCU finished the 2007 season at 8-11 and currently sits at 1-1 on the spring, defeating Iowa State, 3-0, before falling to national-power Notre Dame, 4-0.
"TCU is a very good team, and we are looking forward to the challenge of playing them again in front of many of our North Texas families, friends, and alumni," said Stone. "We will bring a small squad of only 12 players, so our girls will have a great opportunity to get plenty of minutes and show us what they can do."
Admission for Saturday's match is $10. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance to Pizza Hut Park.
Texas Tech will conclude its spring schedule next weekend in El Paso for a two-day event, beginning with Arizona State on April 12 and then UTEP the following day.
