- UNLV's Micheal Brenly became the first opposing player to hit a grand slam against the Red Raiders since Kansas State's Joe Roundy did so back on April 14, 2006. Brenly hit a grand slam in the bottom of the first that gave the Rebels a 5-1 lead.
- Texas Tech took its first lead in almost seven days tonight in the top of the first inning as the Red Raiders jumped out to a 1-0 lead. Tech's last lead was against New Mexico back on Tuesday, April 8.
- Taylor Ashby's triple in the fifth marked his first of the season and the fourth of his career.
- UNLV now leads the all-time series 5-2 and has won two-straight dating back to last season.
- Junior closer Zach Stewart has now allowed runs in back-to-back games for the first time this season.
