- The seven runs given up by Tech in the bottom of the second were the most since giving up that many in the bottom of the fifth at Texas State on March 8.
- Texas Tech's six-game losing skid matches that of a similar streak in which the Red Raiders ended the 2006 season. Tech dropped its final six games of the year in 2006 including a series sweep at Oklahoma State and three losses in the Big 12 Tournament.
- Texas Tech is now four games under .500 for the first time since the 1987 season (Larry Hays' first as the head coach of the Red Raiders).
