Texas Tech Head Coach Larry Hays picked up the 1,500th win of his 38-year career and the 805th win of his 22-year tenure with the Red Raiders. He becomes just the fourth coach in NCAA history to reach 1,500 wins.
Texas Tech enters the Nebraska series riding a four-game win streak, a season long.
Texas Tech completed a season-long three game sweep of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this afternoon by virtue of the 10-5 win over the Islanders. Tech wins the series 3-0.
The Red Raiders now lead TAMU-CC 9-0 and are 7-0 all-time against the Islanders at Dan Law Field.
Freshman catcher Monk Kreder had his season-high nine game hit streak come to an end today as he went 0-for-3 with a run scored.
