- Oklahoma now leads the all-time series 27-22-1 and has won four-straight in Lubbock dating back to 2006.
- The Red Raiders have yet to win a Big 12 opener this season and have lost 10 straight dating back to 2007. Tech's last win in a conference opener was a 1-0 shutout by AJ Ramos over Kansas last season.
- Junior left fielder Chris Richburg was perfect at the plate again today as he went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. He went 4-for-4 (and hit for the cycle) on Wednesday against New Mexico State making his 7-for-7 in the last two games.
- Junior right-fielder Roger Kieschnick drove in a three runs tonight to mark his highest output in a Big 12 game this year.
- The nine runs given up in the top of the third was the most allowed by the Red Raiders in a single inning this season.
