- Texas Tech now leads the all-time series against Dallas Baptist 6-5 and snapped a two-game losing skid against the Patriots with a 9-8 win in the second game of today's doubleheader.
- Junior second baseman Willie Rueda has now hit safely in 19 of Tech's last 22 games and is second on the team with a.356 average. During that 22-game stretch, he has also turned 12 multiple-hit games and is tied for third on the team with 17 on the season.
- Junior right fielder Roger Kieschnick seems to have found his stroke again as he has posted six hits in the last three games along with five RBIs. His three-straight multiple hit games now make him the team leader with 20. He also paces the squad with 15 multiple-RBI contests.
- Junior right-hander Brian Cloud picked up his first career save in the second game of the doubleheader against Dallas Baptist as he pitched the final 1 2/3 innings. His outing comes just days after holding Oklahoma State to just one run over four innings and helped setup Tech's dramatic come-from-behind win on Sunday in the series finale.
- Freshman left-hander Robbie Kilcrease logged a career-high five innings of work in what was just his third start of the season in the second game of the doubleheader against Dallas Baptist. His previous long outing was 4 1/3 against Kansas State back on April 18. He picked up his second win of the season (last vs. New Mexico State on April 20) by holding the Patriots to six runs (three earned) on nine hits.
