Covenant, McNeill Join for Game Day Promotion

LUBBOCK, Texas - Covenant Hospital and Texas Tech Defensive Coordinator Ruffin McNeill and the defensive coaching staff are teaming up to present the Covenant Ruff'n Tuff Defensive Play of the Game. The promotion will take place toward the end of each home game this season and feature the unit's top play of that game.
In addition to the play of the game, other components of the partnership include highlights of historical defensive plays. Selected plays throughout the season will be featured at www.texastech.com and fans will have the opportunity to vote on the defensive play of the year.
At the conclusion of the season, all 13 plays of the game will be shown at the annual football banquet and Covenant will present the Ruff'n Tuff Defensive Play of the Year award to Tech's defense based on the on-line vote.
Texas Tech kicks off the season Saturday at 6 p.m. against Eastern Washington at Jones AT&T Stadium. Tickets remain available for the game and can be purchased through the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Office in the north end of Jones AT&T Stadium or by calling (806) 742-TECH or (888) GO-BIG-12. Fans also can purchase tickets at www.texastech.com.
