TECH DROPS BIG 12 OPENER IN FIVE SETS TO OU

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Red Raiders fought through another five set match at the Red Raider Round Up presented by Aim Bank, but was unable to pull out a victory as they lost its Big 12 opener to Oklahoma (12-25, 25-20, 27-25, 17-25, 15-10).
Tech started the match much like the TCU match earlier in the day, as they dominated the first set 25-12. Tech started the match much like the TCU match earlier in the day, as they dominated the first set 25-12. The Red Raiders dropped the next two sets before dominating the fourth set winning 25-17. Tech was unable to overcome six errors in the last set losing it 15-10.
Amanda Dowdy led all players with 20 kills for the match and she had a .421 attack percentage.Two other Red Raiders finished with double-digit kills as Brandi Hood and Hayley Ball recorded 14 kills apiece. Jenn Harrell and Caroline Witte both had 19 and 14 digs respectively as well as 44 assists for Witte.
Oklahoma was led by Francie Ekwerekwu who had 16 kills and Caitlin Higgins with 14 kills.
Tech will play New Orleans tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in its final match of the Red Raider Round Up presented by Aim Bank.
