- The series between Texas Tech and Cal-State Northridge is now tied at 4-4 thanks to a 7-3 win by the Matadors on Saturday.
- Cal-State Northridge clinched the three-game series this afternoon and all the Red Raiders can hope for now is to avoid the sweep on Sunday in the series finale. Texas Tech has now dropped 18 consecutive three-game series on the road dating back to the 2005 season. Tech's last series win on the road came against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in 2004.
- Junior second baseman Michael Reed led the team with a season-high three hits as he went 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
- Freshman designated hitter Scott LeJeune extended his hit streak to six games while Joey Kenworthy and Taylor Ashby had their five game streaks snapped.
