- Nebraska leads the all-time series against the Red Raiders 26-21 but Tech now has a 13-11 advantage in games played at Dan Law Field. The series win over the Huskers at Dan Law Field is the second-straight for the Red Raiders. The last time that Tech was 2-1 to start the conference season was in 2007 after a series-opening win against the Huskers.
- Senior RHP AJ Ramos was under a pre-determined pitch count of 80 this afternoon and ended up throwing a season-high 87 pitches. He surrendered his first run of year in the top of the first and ended the afternoon having gone 4 2/3 innings allowing three runs on seven hits with two walks and six strikeouts. The Husker run in the first inning snapped a streak of 13 shutout innings for the Lubbock Estacado product.
- Sophomore RHP Chad Bettis recorded both a win and a save in the weekend series against Nebraska to improve to 2-0 on the year with two saves.
- Sophomore catcher Jeremy Mayo hit back-to-back home runs (both two-run dingers) in the fourth and fifth to give him a career-high of four RBIs. He became the first player to have two home runs in a game since Roger Kieschnick did so against Baylor on May 16, 2008.
- Senior first baseman Chris Richburg tied his career high with four hits on the afternoon while driving in a pair of runs.
- Freshman third baseman Justin Berry has now hit safely in 16 of Tech's 18 games this season.
