- Despite tonight's loss, Texas Tech maintains a 72-65 lead in the all-time series against Baylor.
- Junior shortstop Joey Kenworthy committed his seventh error of the season in the bottom of the first inning. His seven miscues lead the team and three of them have come in the first inning of a game.
- Willie Rueda and Michael Reed (Tech's top half of the order) paced the offense with two hits each.
- Senior LHP Cory Large pitched the final 3 2/3 innings in relief of Miles Morgan and that tied his longest outing of the season (last was 3 2/3 at UC-Riverside on March 5).
- Freshman third baseman Justin Berry has now hit safely in 19 of Tech's 21 games this season and extended his hit streak to six games with a single in the second.
- The six runs scored by Baylor in the sixth inning marked the fourth time this season that the Red Raiders have allowed 5-plus runs in a single frame.
- Senior first baseman Chris Richburg extended his current hit streak to eight games and is two games away from tying his career long of 10 back in 2008.
