- Texas Tech now leads the all-time series against Baylor 73-66.
- The three-run home run given up by Chad Bettis in the third is the ninth home run that he has given up in 15 career starts.
- Freshman right fielder Garrett Totten's grand slam in the fourth marked the first by a Red Raider since Roger Kieshnick hit one against Baylor in the final weekend of the 2008 season (May 18). The home run was the first of his career and he finished the day 2-for-4 with a career-high five RBIs.
- Chris Richburg's two home run day is the first of his career and he now has eight on the season. His eight home runs match his career total coming into the season as he now owns 16.
- Sophomore RHP Chad Bettis logged a career-high eight innings of work surpassing his previous long outing of seven innings against Oklahoma on April 26, 2008. Bettis is now 1-1 all-time against Baylor.
