Tech Softball Kick Off Six-Day Road Trip In Austin

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech softball travels to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns on Wednesday night, first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT. Texas Tech (10-25/0-4) split last years series with Texas (23-11/1-1) taking game one in Lubbock, before falling to the Longhorns in Austin. Texas Tech is led by Stephanie Drewry who is hitting a team best .385 with 42 hits, good for second best in the Big 12 Conference.
Five Average .300 Or Above
Red Raiders Stephanie Drewry (.385), Elizabeth Eimen (.368), Leah Legler (.339), Jennifer Lee (.319), and Alex Watkins (.300) are batting above .300 on the season. All five student-athletes are helping to contribute to the team's batting average of .284.
Jacobs All Over The Record Book
With her complete game against Baylor on Saturday, Ashly Jacobs moved into third all-time on the Texas Tech complete games list passing Erin Crawford with 39. Jacobs is just one win shy of tying Emily Hayes on the Texas Tech all-time wins list with 35, she currently has 34. In addition, Jacobs is just two strikeouts shy of passing Sarah Losleben to move into the third spot on the all-time Texas Tech strikeout list. Jacobs is also just two appearances short of moving into the fourth spot on the all-time appearances list.
The Hit Machine
The 1-2-3 hitters for Texas Tech (Legler, Drewry, Eimen) are all hitting ahove .300 and have accounted for 28 RBIs and scored 58 of Texas Tech's runs this season.
On The Road Again
Of the 36 games the Red Raiders have played so far this year, only four have been at home in Lubbock. Tech has been on the road the past six weekends visiting Arizona, California, New Mexico, Nevada, and Florida twice. The current road trip has Texas Tech visiting Austin, before heading up to Ames, Iowa for a weekend Big 12 Conference series and back to Texas to face UT-San Antonio in a single game on Monday before returning to Lubbock that night.
Scouting Texas
Texas enters this week's contest with an overall record of 23-11 and 1-1 in Big 12 play after splitting with No. 13 Missouri over the weekend. The Longhorns are led by Loryn Johnston who is batting .422 with seven doubles and 29 RBIs. In the circle, Texas is led by Erin Tresselt with a 2.90 ERA and a record of 2-2.
