- Texas now has a 96-34 lead in the all-time series against the Red Raiders.
- Today's 4-2 win over Texas snapped a six-game losing streak for the Red Raiders at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. Prior to today, Tech's last win here came in the third and final game of the series back in 2003 (March 30).
- Today's win over the eighth-ranked Longhorns marked Tech's second win over a ranked opponent this season. Tech took a 13-8 win in the series finale last week at No. 9 Baylor in its only other win over a ranked team.
- Senior first baseman Chris Richburg hit his ninth home run of the year (a three-run blast) in the third inning. The three-run blast proved to be the game winner and now has 17 career home runs.
- Junior outfielder Taylor Ashby went 2-for-4 to extend his current hit streak to seven games.
- Junior RHP Chad Bettis is now 2-0 in Big 12 play with a pair of saves. In 17 1/3 innings, he owns a team-best 1.56 ERA and is holding opponents to a .213 batting average.
