LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech soccer team concluded its home spring schedule at the John Walker Soccer Complex Saturday night as the Red Raiders and Oklahoma State ended in a 1-1 draw.
Oklahoma State, the defending Big 12 regular season champion, would get on the board first in the 23rd minute, netting a corner kick from the far side. The goal was the first allowed by Tech goalkeeper Colleen Pitts in four spring matches.
Tech would tie the match four minutes after halftime as Brittney Harrison would head the ball just over the OSU goalkeeper and find the right side of the net for her second goal in as many days.
Despite only two goals, the match was primarily offensive as both teams combined for 13 corner kicks. The Cowgirls maintained a 10-1 shot-on-goal advantage.
With the tie, Tech is now 3-0-1 on the spring with two matches left on its schedule. The NCAA allows a maximum of five dates per spring for school to play exhibition matches.
"All I can say is with Brittney Harrison, you are never out of the game," Tech head coach Tom Stone said. "Colleen Pitts once again looked sharp in goal, and she doesn't show any signs of rust from not playing in over a year. We have three days of practice leading into Spring Break, so hopefully we will continue to improve."
The Red Raiders will take three weeks off before traveling to Canyon, Texas, to face West Texas A&M on March 29. Tech's concludes its spring April 4 at TCU.
