Red Raiders Set For Monday Doubleheader With Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas - Red Raider softball will close out its current road trip, as it faces Southland Conference opponent Texas State in a Monday doubleheader in the newly constructed Bobcat Softball Stadium. Game one is schedule to begin at 1 p.m. CT, followed by game two at 3 p.m. CT.
Texas Tech (13-32) slides 150 miles southwest to San Marcos, after a weekend series with Texas A&M, to face Texas State (28-13) in a Monday doubleheader. Tech is led by Senior Elizabeth Eimen hitting .369 with 48 hits and 15 RBIs, followed closely by Freshman Stephanie Drewry batting .356 with 47 hits.
The Bobcats enter the doubleheader after winning two of three games against UTSA over the weekend. Texas State is led by Alex Newton batting .311 with 41 hits and 12 RBIs. Chandler Hall leads the Bobcats from the circle, with a 1.22 ERA and a 2009 record of 18-7.
Texas Tech won last year's contests between the two schools, evening the series at 11 games apiece.
The Red Raiders will return home to face the University of Texas in a single game on Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT. Fans are encouraged to make plans now to attend the game, as those wearing Texas Tech apparel will be able to purchase tickets for the special price of $1.
