- Texas Tech now leads the all-time series against Kansas 26-15 and the Jayhawks snapped a two-game losing skid against the Red Raiders with today's 15-6 win.
- Tech avoided a run-rule in today's game with a five-run outburst in the bottom of the seventh. Tech has not been run-ruled since a 10-0 loss to Oklahoma State in that series finale in 2006.
- Junior shortstop Joey Kenworthy went 2-for-2 on the afternoon to give him his 18th multiple-hit game of the season. The 18 multiple-hit games lead the team.
