LADY RAIDERS SET SCHOOL RECORD AT TEXAS RELAYS

AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Tech women's 4x800M relay set a new school record during the first day of competition at the 82nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Asia Diaz, Shannon Jackson, Kearci Jobe and Gladys Kipsang finished second in the 4x800M relay with a time of 8:52.46. The time breaks the previous school record of 9:01.34 set back in 1993.
The first competition for Tech at the Texas Relays was the women's hammer throw. Ozie Okolie threw a NCAA Regional mark of 192'-04" to place fifth.
Sandra Iwunze won her heat in the 400M hurdles with a time of 1:01.51 but failed to qualify for finals. Jamele Mason ran a 53.80 in the men's 400M hurdles and Brandon Tucker ran a 1:04.42 as neither qualified for finals.
Tech begins competition tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. with the 100M and 110M hurdles. Live results can be followed at www.texassports.com.
