- Oklahoma State now has a 26-21 lead in the all-time series but the Red Raiders have won two-straight against the Cowboys. Tonight's win snapped a three-game losing skid to Oklahoma State at Dan Law Field as the Cowboys swept the series here back in 2007.
- A series win over Oklahoma State would ensure the Red Raiders of no worse than a seven seed at the upcoming Big 12 Conference Championship that is being held at the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City next week.
- Texas Tech has now won five Friday night games (four at home) in the Big 12 and that is the most by the program since the 2002 season.
- Junior shortstop Joey Kenworthy had his career-high, 10-game hit streak come to an end tonight as he went 0-for-5.
- Chris Richburg, Willie Rueda and Garrett Totten paced the Tech offense with two RBIs each.
- Senior RHP AJ Ramos who was held back from a starting role this weekend in order to prepare him for the upcoming Big 12 Championship made his first relief appearance tonight since pitching a 1/3 of an inning of relief against Missouri on April 29, 2007.
- Texas Tech was out-hit tonight by Oklahoma State 14-10 and the win was just the third this season for the Red Raiders (3-19) when being out-hit.
