- Texas Tech now leads the all-time series against Kansas State 25-14-1 and has now won three in a row against the Wildcats. Tech clinched its first road series win since the 2004 season and the first at Kansas State since 2001.
- Texas Tech has now won four Big 12 series and that is the most since the Red Raiders won six league series back in 2004.
- Today's win marked the first Big 12 game that Tech has won without an appearance by sophomore RHP Chad Bettis.
- Junior center fielder Joey Kenworthy picked up his team-leading 24th multiple-hit game of the season this afternoon by going 3-for-6 with three RBIs and two runs scored. His six at-bats tied a career-high.
- Willie Rueda and Chris Richburg each added three RBIs on the afternoon and the Richburg now has 14 mutli-RBI games (team leader).
- Senior RHP Brian Cloud matched his season high of four strikeouts as he retired the final four batters of the game on strikeouts.
