LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech is offering expanded coverage of Red Raider football game days this season as the media relations office will implement several new features on the athletics department website. Fans not able to attend the game can log-on to www.texastech.com and listen to the broadcast and participate in conversations with other Red Raider fans.
The media relations office will employ the use of social networking sites, Twitter and Facebook, as an interactive means to relate to fans throughout the game. Also, fans can follow the official Texas Tech blog and will have the option to ask questions and give comments throughout the game. The Gameday Central page will feature links to the blog and networking sites as well as provide a link to the radio broadcast of the game.
"We want to make our website a one-stop shop for our fans on game day," Associate Director of Media Relations Blayne Beal said. "Our fans are the driving force behind Texas Tech hosting the best game day atmosphere in college football, and we want to reach out to those that can't be here and have them be a part of it."
Pictures of fans and the atmosphere surrounding the game will be placed on Texas Tech's Facebook page throughout the game, while periodic Tweets surrounding the goings-on of game day will be available on Tech's Twitter page.
Texas Tech will launch an expanded game day photo gallery, including images on and off the field, immediately following the game. Final game statistics, notes and coach and player quotes also will appear on the Gameday Central page at the conclusion of the game.
With the exception of the online radio broadcast, all of the features of Gameday Central are available at no charge. To join in on the game day experience, log-on to www.texastech.com.
