Texas Tech and Michigan met for the first time on the diamond this evening and Tech's 4-2 win over the Wolverines gives the Red Raiders a 1-0 lead in the all-time series. In fact, the Michigan baseball team is the first Wolverine squad in any sport to face the Red Raiders in Lubbock.
The Tech pitching staff held a Michigan offense that had scored 33 combined runs in their two previous games before this evening to just two runs on four total hits. Tech did not allow a single Michigan hit over the last 7 1/3 innings and just three base runners (two walks and one hit batter) over that stretch.
