- Texas Tech falls to 8-7 on the season and has now lost two-straight games dating back to a 13-9 loss at home against Gonzaga on Wednesday.
- TCU has now won four-straight against the Red Raiders and lead the all-time series 70-68-1. Tonight's game marked the 139th all-time meeting between the two schools on the diamond. The TCU series is the third most played in school history.
- Texas Tech only allowed three earned runs on the night as defensive miscues led to five unearned TCU runs.
- Texas Tech turned two double plays tonight and now has 17 on the season (Big 12 best).
- Sophomore designated hitter Scott LeJeune belted a three-run home run in the third to pull Tech within two runs at 6-4. The home run was his second of the season with his first coming against Michigan on Feb. 21.
- Junior catcher Jeremy Mayo belted his second home run of the season in the fourth inning. His other home run this year came against Bethune-Cookman on Feb. 25.
- Freshman right fielder Jamodrick McGruder finished the game with two triples and those were his first two extra base hits of the season.
