Red Raiders Drop Final Game in Florida

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Texas Tech fell to 28-4 on the year as Maryland beat the Red Raiders in a rainy, frankly miserable weather, game to conclude Tech's play at the USF The Game tournament.
A few sloppy plays cost Tech dearly as three unearned runs were scored on starter Ashly Jacobs (10-1) who took the loss in the circle. And, after jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a pair of singles by Emily Bledsoe and Ashley Hamada and a two-out, two-run single by Logan Hall, Tech couldn't manage enough offense to overcome the Terrapins, who finished the event with a perfect 5-0 record.
Bledsoe finished the day two-for-three and Hamada was two-for-four to highlight most of the offense for the Red Raiders.
Tech return home, storm and American Airlines willing, to host Arkansas Pine Bluff for a double header on Wednesday before beginning Big 12 play versus Iowa State at home on Saturday, March 28.
-- Gametracker note: We apologize for the inconvenience caused for fans by our decision not to electrocute ourselves in setting up a computer during the rain soaked pre-game and first few innings. We are not as hearty as the folks from other schools who managed to make their computers work in the rain. Nor, are we as foolish!
