- Texas Tech falls to 7-3 on the season and to 0-1 against nationally ranked opponents. With today's 11-2 win, TCU takes a 69-68-1 lead in the all-time series.
- The Red Raiders are now just 5-11 all-time in the Houston College Classic and have lost two-straight games in this tournament dating back to 2008.
- Junior right-hander Chad Bettis took the loss for Texas Tech today but did manage to tie his career high with nine strikeouts against the Horned Frogs.
- Senior left fielder Michael Reed extended his career-best hit streak to eight games with a leadoff double in the first inning.
- Freshman Barrett Barnes' RBI single in the first gave him 14 on the season and that mark is tied for second in the Big 12 Conference.
