- Texas Tech now stands at 17-18 on the year and at 6-6 in Big 12 Conference play.
- Today's game marked the 32nd all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. The Cowboys now lead the series 29-23 and are 16-11 against the Red Raiders at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
- Texas Tech picked up its first road series win of the season with today's 5-3 victory of the Cowboys. It is the first road series win for Tech since taking 2-of-3 last year at No. 10 Kansas State.
- Tech picked up its first road series win at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium since 2004. In that series in 2004, Tech scored nine runs in the top of the ninth to take an 11-8 come-from-behind win over the Cowboys and won the series 2-1.
- Texas Tech earned its first series win over Oklahoma State since 2005.
