- Texas Tech now stands at 18-18 on the year and is back at .500 for the first time since the first game of the Texas series back in March.
- Texas Tech now holds a 9-6 lead in the all-time series against Dallas Baptist. Tonight's win over the Patriots gives the Red Raiders a two-game season sweep as the Red Raiders posted a 8-5 win over DBU back on March 2 at Dan Law Field.
- Tonight's game marked Tech's second straight comeback win as the Red Raiders overcame a nine-run deficit in the first inning.
- Taylor Ashby's double in the sixth inning moved him into a tie for fifth place on the school's career doubles list with former Red Raider David Lindstrom (1994-96). Ashby now has 43 career doubles and needs two more to move into a tie for fourth place.
- Nick Popescu led Tech with a four RBIs on the night which marked a season high for the junior third baseman. His three-run home run in the second inning was his third of the season.
- Freshman Jamodrick McGruder hits his fourth home run of the season in the top of the second.
