LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's No.1 doubles pair of Kelsy Garland and Natalie Leitch make their first appearance of the season on the national collegiate rankings. The two veterans are 9-4 for the season and are listed No. 78 in this week's ITA national rankings.
Kelsy (Lubbock, Texas) and Natalie (Highland Park, Texas) are 7-3 in their last ten matches and are 5-3 in Big 12 competition.
Coach Petty commented, "I'm really pleased for Kelsy and Natalie. Their national ranking is a clear indication of the work they've done this season. They've beaten a Top 40 doubles pair, and two of their four losses were to a Top 10 duo and a Top 50 doubles pair.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College.
The Lady Raiders conclude the 2009-2010 conference season with their last two matches on the road at Kansas on April 23, and at Kansas State at April 25.
The Big 12 Championships get underway in Austin, Texas, beginning on April 29.
