- Texas Tech now stands at 24-21 on the season and had its two-game win streak halted with today's loss to New Mexico.
- Despite today's loss to UNM, the Red Raiders still lead the all-time series 58-36-1. Today's game was the 95th meeting between Texas Tech and New Mexico.
- Texas Tech surrendered nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and that was the second most allowed in a single frame this year as Houston scored 10 runs on the Red Raiders in the bottom of the second back at the Houston College Classic on March 7.
- Texas Tech head coach Dan Spencer now has a career record of 49-53.
- Sophomore designated hitter Scott LeJeune belted his 25th double of the season in the fourth inning and is now just four shy of tying the school's season record of 29.
- Nick Popescu and Scott LeJeune each extended their current hit streaks to eight games while Jamodrick McGruder and Jeremy Mayo had their seven-game streaks snapped.
