- UNLV now leads 7-5 all-time against Tech. Today's win marks the first win in Las Vegas for Tech since the 2006 season.
- Freshman Barrett Barnes recorded his second multiple-home run game of the season as he smashed two blasts over the left field wall in his first two at-bats. His last multi-home run game came in Tech's 8-3 win over Jacksonville State on February 19.
- RHP Bobby Doran made his first relief appearance of the season in today's matchup. The junior allowed only two unearned runs on three hits in one inning of work.
- Senior Michael Reed had his career-high 10-game hitting streak come to an end today as he went 0-for-4 at the plate.
