- Texas Tech now stands at 15-18 on the season and at 4-6 in Big 12 play.
- Tonight's game marked the 30th all-time meeting between the Red Raiders and the Cowboys. Oklahoma State has now won three-straight games in the series and leads 29-21 all-time.
- Oklahoma State plated seven runs in the fourth inning and that was the most given up by Tech since Texas plated eight runs in the sixth inning on March 28.
- Senior center fielder Taylor Ashby's double in the sixth moved him into a tie for sixth place with Bobby Kohler (1979-82) as he now owns 42 in his career.
- Taylor Ashby and Scott LeJeune each extended hit streaks to seven games while freshman Barrett Barnes pushed his hit streak to five.
