- Tonight's game marked the 48th all-time meeting between Texas Tech and Nebraska. The Huskers lead the all-time series 27-21 and have won the last seven meetings here at Haymarket Park dating back to the 2006 season.
- The Big 12 Championship field was set tonight by virtue of Baylor's 6-5 win over Oklahoma State. Oklahoma State and Nebraska will miss the postseason tournament for the second consecutive year.
