LUBBOCK, Texas - Former Texas Tech pitcher and current Oakland Athletic, Dallas Braden, will appear on HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel Tuesday, June 22 at 9:00 p.m. (CT) to talk about his perfect game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
On May 9th, Braden became the 19th pitcher in major league history to throw a perfect game. He struck out six in the 109-pitch performance en route to his first complete game.
Braden, born in Stockton, California, played only one season as a Red Raider until he was drafted in the 24th-round of the 2004 MLB Draft. That year Tech went to an NCAA Tournament finishing second at the Atlanta Regional with a final record of 40-21. That season he accumulated a record of 6-4 with a 4.56 ERA through 17 starts and 98 2/3 innings.
Braden has, so far, compiled an ERA of 3.95 in the 2010 season for the Oakland A's with a 4-6 record and is next scheduled to start Wednesday, June 16 against Chicago at 7:05 p.m. (CT).
