| TUBERVILLE ERA BEGINS AT HOME AGAINST SMU Since his hiring on Jan. 10, 2010, the Texas Tech faithful have been looking forward to this date. After nine months of intense speculation and chatter, first-year head coach Tommy Tuberville and his coaching staff will debut the first Red Raider squad of their tenure on Sunday afternoon in front of a national television audience against SMU. Sunday's game against the Mustangs will be televised nationally on ESPN with Mark Jones, Bob Davie and Holly Rowe calling the action. A live national radio broadcast will also be available through Compass Radio Networks. Texas Tech enters 2010 with high expectations after earning yet another bowl victory back on January 2 of this year in the Valero Alamo Bowl. The Red Raiders took control of the game in the fourth quarter and left the Alamodome with a 41-31 win over Michigan State of the Big Ten Conference. Texas Tech and SMU will be playing for the first time since Sept. 13, 2008, when the Red Raiders handed the Mustangs a 43-7 defeat in Jones AT&T Stadium. In that game, Texas Tech piled up 693 yards of total offense while holding June Jones' first Mustang team to just 274. Quarterback Graham Harrell was 31-of-48 with 493 yards and five touchdowns, while Michael Crabtree led the way with 164 yards on eight catches and caught three touchdown passes. Texas Tech leads the all-time series against SMU 31-16.
