LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head women's basketball coach Kristy Curry has announced a new addition to her staff as Andrea Riebock has been hired as the program's graduate assistant.
Riebock, a native of Decatur, Ill., will help with the daily operations of the women's basketball program, while also assisting with video, the managers, practice players and community service.
"We are so excited to have Andrea join our staff" said Curry. "She brings a lot of experience to our program at such a young age. From playing for a successful college program to being an assistant at the college level, we feel that she brings the kind of passion and energy that will benefit our players in all aspects on and off the court."
Riebock comes to Tech after a two-year coaching stint at Franklin College. While at Franklin, she helped lead the Grizzlies to the 2010 HCAC regular-season and tournament championships along with an NCAA Championship bid, which was the program's first in five years. During her time at Franklin, she also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, assistant sports information director and taught a physical education strength and conditioning class for female students.
Riebock graduated from Millikin University in May 2008 with a degree in political science and business. While at Millikin, she was a standout on the court as well. She led the Big Blue to the 2005 CCIW conference championship and the 2005 NCAA Division III National Championship. She was a CCIW all-conference selection her junior and senior years along with being named the team's co-captain.
She is currently working on her master's degree in exercise and sports science with an emphasis on sports management at Texas Tech.
