Football Student-Athletes Report For Training Camp

LUBBOCK, Texas - The day that all of the 104 Texas Tech football student-athletes and coaches have had circled on their calendars for month's has finally arrived.
The first steps of the 2010 Texas Tech football season got underway this afternoon at 2 p.m. as 104 student-athletes reported for the first football training camp of the Tommy Tuberville era.
"It felt good to finally get to this day, but it will feel even better when we get to step out on that field tomorrow afternoon," said Tuberville. "The guys seemed really upbeat and ready to get started so we will go through our meetings tonight and begin preparing ourselves for what hope will be a great first practice."
Of the 104 student-athletes that checked in this afternoon, 31 of those players will be new to the program. Amongst the 31 newest Red Raiders, 25 are true freshmen and the remaining six are transfers.
Texas Tech will hold its first workout of training camp tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. Tomorrow's practice as well as Sunday's workout (3:45 p.m.) are open to the public and will be held inside Jones AT&T Stadium.
